Hi,
For some reason, my IRC connection has a habit of disconnecting when I'm using fios internet, while my normal network operations are still operating normally. I've tried changing IRC clients to see if it would help and it doesn't. I've use mIRC, chatzilla and y-chat, with the same results.
I believe I'm using the new fios modem/router they offer.
any suggestions?

I do not see any time out options in y-chat whatsoever.
I suspect there might be a router configuration somewhere that's causing me to get disconnected.

#1 What is the brand, model and version of your router?
For example Actiontec, MI-424-WI, Rev C.
#2 What is the software firewall on your computer?

I'm bumping this as it's still happening and it's rather annoying.

bumping again.
this is getting pretty annoying.
I don't recall having this issue with comcast (using the same PC as I am now) so I'm going to surmise that it's something with the router that verizon supplied.

I'm tempted to say this could be a TCP Timeout setting in the router. This basically defines how long the router maintains an entry in the NAT table before flushing it if it's considered inactive, dropping your IRC connection. I wouldn't know where the router keeps these settings, but it is something that is worth mentioning.
