Issue connecting Netgear EX6110 extender with FiOS G3100 router
blazing_speeds

I'm having an issue where I'm not able to connect my NetGear EX6110 Wireless AC device to my Verizon FiOS router (G3100) and I can't tell if it's the NetGear device or the FiOS modem blocking the extender from completing the setup process. On the EX6110, I can get as far as selecting the FiOS wifi name and inputting the password, but the wifi extender will never actually connect. The extender has the latest firmware and I assume so does my FiOS router. Is there any way I can troubleshoot this from a FiOS perspective to ensure something isn't blocking the range extender?

G3100 is a tri-band wireless router. E3200 is its official extender. G3100 might be detecting you are not using its hidden 5GHz band for backhauling, so it blocks the access. Third-party extenders cannot use G3100's hidden 5GHz band. You might need to try wire the extender with an ethernet cable.
