Logging into Router & Chaining to Wireless N Router

Hello,

I have had a lot of trouble working with the Actiontec MI424-WR Router. For starters, I cannot log in to the router to change any settings. I have tried all of the suggested logins and passwords found online, but no success. My goal is to chain the Aciontec to a Linksys WRT300N because I have worked with that in the past.

Any help with logging into the router, and using the Linksys as my wireless router would be much appreciated.

Thank You!

The above is a good walk through.

The serial number (case sensitve) should be your password for the acitontec

If you've tried the serial number (upper case) located under the bar code on the service tag and that does not work your only option is to do a hard reset on the router by holding in the reset button on the back until all the lights go out, then come back on.  You will be prompted to enter a new user name and password.
