Metered Billing is coming!

I just read an article stating that Verizon is going to implement metered billing. It is NOT here yet but it is coming. Anyone else have anymore details on this? This is devastating for all of Verizon's customers. I hope Verizon will chime in here with facts, and not a bunch of flub.

Same fear another month.

IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

Companies have been threatening this ever since the internet went mainstream. And everytime a company tries it, it becomes a PR nightmare and the company stocks fall, they start loosing customers, and the competition says "come to us, we wont do that". This has been a rumor will just not go away. Of course the Companies use vague language. If they came right out and said "We will not meter usage" and then the opportunity to do so came along, they would be in trouble. They think like lawyers. Dont deny or confirm anything. But it wont happen. Especially in this day and age of Video streaming, Video Gaming, Music sharing, and other high bandwidth uses. The customers will not stand for it and everytime that a company tries it is a nightmare for the company trying it.

I hope that it does not come.

But if it does, I hope that they have a meter.

You may or may not believe how annonyed DSLR users on Comcrap Comcast are when they have a limited cap and no meter!

I believe the phrase, is...

No Taxation Without Representation!

The cable companies see a mass loss of monthly revenue from their TV customer base as more and more TV is available thru the internet.  Currently, they risk losing video on demand revenue.  The way to stop this is to bill customers on their internet usage so they get the revenue either way.

It would not surprise me to see this implemented very soon so they can say that they are protecting their "limited resources" rather than waiting until they see an impact and they are more obvious in their intentions.

Just my guess....I read the same things you all do.....
