How do I block port 4567 on router, it seems verizon monitors your activity, if anyway to close this port in router settings, please give detailed instrctions. All fios internet routers seem to have this port open which I don't like.
Thank you.

that's a management port that fios uses to push firmware updates, and information to the cable boxes for updates as well as troubleshooting, so if you call verizon and say 'hey my internet doesn't work' or 'my cable boxes are messed up' it's the port that they send commands through to.
I have heard it's next to impossible to disable because it's hardcoded in the router purposefully by verizon. and if you were to disable you would need to expect some obstacles if you ran into trouble and need verizon to do tech support over the phone and remotely send commands to your equipment.
