port blocking

Message 1 of 2

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to turn off ports on my router - really, i'd like to set up a rule that blocks specific ports for specific days and times - su-fri, 5:00pm - 4:45.

i can set up the rule, which will block web sites, but it won't block client-based games. any thoughts on how to do that?

i have the Actiontec MI424WR router.

the problem with blocking client based games is a tad difficult because they use a range. what I would do is setup an admin account on the computer for administrative purposes and then setup a basic account on the computer and just use the basic account.

The reason for this is the client can be blocked by PC Parental controls and the person trying to play client games will not be able to do something simple such as reset the router and you will be starting back over again.
