For the past couple of weeks or so, we have been unable to stream DVR TV from the UK in the evenings (US time zone, that is). During the day, it's fine but from about 7 p.m. it all falls apart with symptoms of extremely poor bandwidth. Live TV streaming is fine, it's just DVR streaming; i.e. catch-up. Interestingly, there are four customers of this service in the US experiencing the problem and all four have Verizon as their ISP. Other customers of the service who are NOT using Verizon ISP do not have the problem.
What could it be about Verizon's evening time packet switching (or some other aspect of their network) that results in this problem only in the evenings?
