Relocating Router

Ok. Obviously you guys understand what you're talking about. I do not.

I originally had triple play with the bulk of the equipment in my bedroom. I had my main tv in my living room. It worked fine but the wifi was never good. I have dropped triple play and want my smart tv to be the only tv in the house and I'd like it to be in the living room. As I said, the wifi doesn't do the trick.

Can I move whatever needs to be moved to the living room by myself?

Thanks for any help.

You can run ethernet cat5e or 6 from a lan port on your router to the direct connection

on your smart tv. It will then get an IP address and you will be all set to go.

My neighbor just had his smart tv hooked that way since WiFi is not as great than a direct connection.

You may move whatever you need to move by yourself. The ONT will need to stay in place, especicially since the Fiber may be fragile. Your router can be connected wherever it needs to be connected, and if you need to extend the CAT5e run between the router and ONT, or the Coax run, that's pretty simple to do, and parts for such a task can be had at any hardware store.

Just remember - boot your CAT5e cables, and use compression fittings on all RJ-6 Coax cabling.
