The Verizon Internet Security Suite does not remove the "rootkit.win32.agent.bfwd" virus which has infected my computer.  Can anyone suggest a solution other than switching providers?

I would use Avast & Spybot Search and Destroy to remove it.

If you have verizon mcafee - then verizon can conference mcafee in, they can take over your computer and help you remove the virus.

or let the mcafee tools try to find it and cleanse it

http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/default.aspx

or some other free online scanners

http://housecall.trendmicro.com

is decent.

The above has just what you needSmiley Wink, And I never refer anyone to MCrappie software for any removals.Smiley Sad You'd need removal software just to remove the removal software... rotflol ...everywhere has rank this as just plain garbage with way to many false positives to really be used safely ...unless of course you really don't mind recovering those diles from your hard drive after its scannedSmiley Wink
