Routing Issues in MD(Mid atlantic) from FIOS to Softlayer

A couple of weeks ago pathofexile started a beta of an upcoming patch for their game. Part of this was to open servers in more locations (mainly in the DC area) with their hosting provider, softlayer.

Everything was fine and the ping times to and from the servers to my house were 14ms which is pretty much on target for being 40miles north of the actual servers.

I'm not sure on an exact time frame but for at least the past two weeks all outbound traffic to softlayer servers has been routing out to san jose alter network and then back through great oaks ca -> lax -> denver/chicago -> dc and is taking 5-6times as long as it should since the data is taking the long way around.

Would it be possible to get someone at a higher tier to contact softlayer and resolve this issue?

I'm currently routing around this issue by directing traffic through a VPN in New York but it's still 10ms higher than it should have to be.
