Well, "keep me signed in" worked correctly fo 2 weeks. Now it's back to forcing me to sign in every time! I called Verizon about it and was told they had decided not to fix the "keep me signed in" problem!

WIndows live is not bundled with Windows 8.  Another version if Windows Mail is included.  You can still download Windows Essentials 2012 (latest Windows Live Mail) and it will work with POP on windows 8.
