Ok i pay for 35/35. Do i ever see a speed close to that? not by a long shot!! Im hard wired directly into router/modem 2 feet away.Nothing else is on my network except my pc and tv. I've done every suggestion known to mankind to speed things up. Called verizon support countless times and did everything they said. No viruses, clean computer, clean reg, defrag, reboot, turn off this, turn on that, reboot ont, unplug ont,Change security setup, change channels, change all wires, You name it, ive done it and this is what i get..

Checking for Middleboxes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done
SendBufferSize set to [261360]
running 10s outbound test (client to server) . . . . . 1.43Mb/s
running 10s inbound test (server to client) . . . . . . 36.48kb/s
Information: Network Middlebox is modifying MSS variable
Server IP addresses are preserved End-to-End
Information: Network Address Translation (NAT) box is modifying the Client's IP address
Server says [.....] but Client says [......]

Its a joke already, even aol was faster than this **bleep**.

I'm sorry you are having difficulty. An agent with access to your account will reach out to you directly by email, private message in the Forums and/or the billing telephone number on your Verizon account for more information or to help you resolve your issue.

You mentinoed that your computer has no vriruses but as I learned not that long ago, you could still have viruses without even knowing it, even though my virus program may be coming back clean every time.  If it's Verizon's Internet Security Suite powered by McAfee, that could explain it because that's what happened with me.  My connection was so slow that I couldn't connect to the Internet.  I paid a local technician to come to my house and it turned out that I did have a lot of viruses even though the virus program on my hard drive showed nothing.

You may want to download these free virus programs.  They work much better:

malwarebytes.com and avast.com

Good luck.

With Avast, after it is installed set it to do a boot scan, so it scans before the windows kernel loads. Under Scan The Computer, you must select Schedule Boot Time Scan. Then reboot.

What operating system are you running? I had almost the same issues with upload speeds, and it had to do with a TCP optimizer I ran that made garbage of my system files and registry settings. I can not remember if I was still on Vista 64 or had moved on to Window 7 64. I bought a new drive for $50 and did a clean install just as a test and it took off like lightning. Had to reinstall all my software and move my files, but it was well worth it. I was beating my head against the wall.
