I'm experiencing signal range issues in my new home. While my computers can connect reasonably well, my Internet connected TV (Sharp) struggles to get a strong signal. The walls are thick so I suspect the problem is related to signal strength. What would be the best option to extend the range? Should I get a new 3rd party router and disable the router from my Verizon unit? If so, are there instructions for doing so?
Many thanks in advance.
Jon

Hi jon. That's actually a rather popular thing to do, and it's very easy. The Apple airport is a great option, but let me point out that Verizon has a 5ghz range Extender at a great price right now ($75) and from the discussions we all have around here it works remarkably well. Also it's plug n play. Google "verizon fios accessories" and you'll get linked to their store.
I don't have the instructions for the two router setup on me right now but if you go with the airport router, then you leave the Verizon configurations alone and you simply bridge the airport.
