Current PC is hooked into internet via ethernet directly to the Verizon router. However, bought a new PC which I am setting up tonight. To establish the internet connection on this new PC, do I simply plug the ethernet from the router into the computer, and the connection will be recognized? Or, will I have to do more, some sort of installation wizard on the new PC in order to establish the internet connection? Thanks!

Nope just plug it in. When you connect the Ethernet/cat5e cable to the router it should pick up a IP address from DHCP. By default DHCP will be enabled by your router unless you turned it off. And I will be yours is on.

For an illiterate computer guy, what is DHCP? I've made no changes to the default router settings, so I'm sure that is on. So it's plug and play - that's the way I like it! Thanks Tim!

DHCP, is just a proposes your router users to get your PC a IP address. An IP address is used by your PC to connect to the network.
