TV Tuner cards & FIOS TV?

I have a TV tuner card and when I had analog cable (no set top box) I simply plugged the coax cable into the card and watched tv on my PC.  When I switched to FIOS and tried plugging the coax from my box into the card it didn't work (TV via Media Center) anymore and gave me a message saying files needed for video are missing or corrupt.

My tuner card is pretty old (2004).  If I buy a new tuner card, will I have any issues?  I see cards that say they support digital cable, will this help?

you will need a turner that will pick up "clear quam" signals. Old tuners and not all digital tuners will.

Like TIm mentioned, the tuner has to be clear Qam, and I believe it won't Pick up all the higher band stations.

Yeah it will only do the normal broadcast stations abc, nbc, cbs, fox, cw, and I think the audio music channels

Does Verizon FIOS broadcast in Clear QAM?  I didn't think it did.
