Verizon Fios: How to hide WiFi access? How to set up guest network?

I would like to hide my WiFi network, but above link seems out of date. When in Fios app, I checked "Manage Home Wi-Fi Setting", no information about turning off wifi access.

How to set up guest network?

Thanks.

This seems to be what I am looking for. I came to that tab, but did not see hyperlink. It is right on my attached screenshot level 2. It looks like normal text "SSID Broadcoast", but it can open hyper link.

For a 3100:

If you are home, enter 192.168.1.1 into a browser's address bar, log into the router as the Admin, then:

Wi-Fi->Primary Network.

Disable the bands.

Thanks. What is log in Username/Password? I used Username/Password for bill payment, it does not work.

Thanks.

Edit: ok, found it on sticker, side of modem.

The password is located on the rear plate of the router. Make sure to use the Admin password and not the Wi-Fi password. 🙂

Just curious, what is the model of the router? 🤔

Old router, when I bought the house in 2014, I got the router, definitely out of date.

Similar like that: https://www.verizon.com/home/accessories/verizon-high-speed-wifi-gateway/

Attached screenshot: for some reason, I did not figure out how to hide network?

Check out this page. Which one looks like your router?

If you have a 424, please replace it. It is no longer being supported by the manufacturer and by Verizon.

Route: Verizon MI424WR rev. It works fine for me, is it free for replacement? If not free, I can keep mine for now.

I edited above post, with screenshot uploaded to Google Drive folder.

Might the option to disable Wi-Fi be under the Wireless Status tab?

If the router is rented from Verizon, it should be replaced at no cost. If it is owned outright, it will cost to replace.

1100 routers can be purchased on Amazon for around $40. Just be sure that the unit is a Verizon variant. The 1100 is still supported, but it will eventually fall out of support.

If the ONT is the same one that was present when you moved in, consider reviewing your bill and see if Verizon's latest offerings can save you some money. If the ONT is obsolete, Verizon would replace it at no cost if you upgrade your services.
