Since making that change mine had stayed up for 22 hours and counting.

What exactly did you change?

I have been up for 135 hours as of now.  I expect a reboot soon.

there's a hidden page in the routers software from an older revision that controls IGMP proxy. I disabled I Igmp proxy on that page. This was a workaround for an older revision to allow DLNA to work.

Interesting because as I posted earlier in my review of changes between older and current firmware, IGMP was one of the changes.  Maybe there is something to this change with regards to the STB's issues.  Please keep us posted.  Anyone else with an extremely short reboot frequency may want to try this to see if it helps.

I'll be sure to try it too. Reboots usually happen every 24 hours for me, so we shouldn't have to wait long for results.

If this actually does work long term, make sure you report it to a Verizon technical assistance person. I would, but every time I post a communication between me and a Verizon representative on these forums, their moderators tell me I'm breaching the terms of service and they remove my post. (Even though it's the Verizon techs that are telling me to tell people to report these issues. {edited} Good luck.

Just use a code name for them. Say a higher power suggested to do it. 🙂

Anybody know what IGMP actually does? I'm just wondering if turning it off will introduce a new problem.

It has something to do with multi-casting over IPv4. I know multi-casting is used by things like live video and audio streams.  I'm not sure of much beyond that but wikipedia has an article about it.

In a previous rev., DLNA servers (windows media player, serviio, etc.) on my network were not being discovered by clients (PS4, blue-ray players, etc) on my network. I had to go to the hidden page and disable IGMP Proxy for DLNA streaming to work again.

It deals with multicast traffic. It may effect certain streaming music and/or video server products. It is more of a point to multipoint streaming.  Essentially think of it as a server/stream that multiple devices/computers can subscribe to.  It is designed to reduce network traffic.  Switches/routers will maintain a list of computers that are subscribed and only send the information to those addresses.  More efficient than general broadcast which goes to every device.  I don't think it will cause other problems for you and if it does switch it back.
