Webmail - Switching between basic and Enhanced

I have been using the Enhanced or Premiere or whatever Verizon calls it version of the Webmail for a few months now.  Well I made the mistake of clicking the link to go back to basic webmail and now I cannot get back to the better version.  As usual Verizon Tech Support has been useless.  I might be a moron here, but I was able to switch from basic to advanced by clicking a link a few months ago and then the other night I clicked the link that let me switch to basic.  Now I can't get or find a way to switch back to the enhanced version. The only thing I could find was a link to sign up for it and it tells me that I am already signed up for it.  I've purged my cookies, etc. and still can't get to it.

I have been using the basic webmail for 6 months now with no issues. I have used IE, Firefox, Chrome, windows mobile phone, and a G1 phone to access it. So RiverGirl I think you really need to look at it realistically and figure out what you are doing wrong.

As far as how to get it back. You just go into "general" settings, on the bottom of the option you will see "Desired Interface:" that is where you select "Rich". If that option is not there then you account has not been migrated, and will be migrated soon.

  • Log in to your Verizon account
  • Open your Verizon Webmail account
  • Select Basic Version in the upper left hand corner of your toolbar  or going back, choose the new again

I agree it should be that easy but I don't have the New Webmail button on the toolbar like I did the first time I switched.

And apparently you won't for a "short period of time". Verizon is apparently getting ready to update the enhanced webmail application to a newer, improved level, and they have shut off all conversions from basic to enhanced until they are ready to rollout the new version.

The "short period of time" is not defined at this time, but is probably in the next few weeks, maybe less.

Thank you.  I've been trying to get an answer from Verizon Tech support via Email and all they keep sending me is the stupid computer generated responses that end up with Contact Help & Support.  This becomes an endless loop of no help.  I should have joined these forums 2 years ago when I first got FiOS.  Calling them is pointless after waiting on hold for sometimes hours I end up talking with someone who can barely speak English and does not even understand the problem.

Thanks again.  I wish I would have never hit that button.

Thanks for clearing this up. The stupid Tech service lady I got was a B**** and wasn't up to date on her information... she told me that "once I clicked on basic, I couldn't go back." Which isn't true, bc I've done it before.... Anywho, I asked to speak to her supervisor and she hung up. Wow, pathetic. They need to bring the jobs back to the states.... It's hard to understand them!!!

Thanks again!

That was true not long ago. When they changed from webmail 2.0 to 3.0 over the last say 3 or 4 weeks, once you told it to use basic, you were not able to go back. Now that the system is on 3.0 that option is back.

I just tried to switch from the basic webmail to the advanced and I still do not have the option. I looked everywhere on the page and went into the mail settings and I cannot locate where to switch this.  Anyone know if the conversion is complete yet?

Except for the fact that Verizon has the worst customer service in the WORLD - I cannot believe we are all suppose to use this horrible version of email (they can call it basic, but I can't get anything done in it) until they send out a new version.  And there is no time estimate on the new version.  I can't use my contact list because I can't open the contact list and an email at the same time.  I can't disable the pop-up blocker because that is not an option.  This has virtually frozen my ability to work.  I am getting more done from the Blackberry and slowly losing my eyesight and developing gamer's thumb.  Wonder if I can send my medical bills to Verizon since they are causing it.
