how do I turn of my wifi without but still use my router ?

Hello,

Assuming you have the newest of the verizon routers, follow these steps.

Using a hardwired device, click here: http://192.168.1.1/

Login with the username / password. It will be found on a sticker on the side of your router.

Click the big Wireless Settings button on the top navbar.

Click Basic Security Settings in the left menu.

Find the section that says "Turn wireless on". 

Click "Off" for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. 

Scroll down and click apply. Your wifi is now turned off.
