Hi toptek....since you are successfully leaving the verizon network, we would be unable to offer any additional troubleshooting. Your issue does not lie with us. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

well from the tracerts that you posted, there doesnt look to be any problem with your connection. Unless its on the ones with no reply. But everything that replied and gave you results looks good. In fact I dont see any problems at all. Now this was taken at the times you have the issues, right? You said after 5p? If so it may be that your having performance issues with the new patch.

Just wanted to jump in here incase others read this thread, but I am a gamer on LOTRO, and it sounds like the problem is definately on Blizzard's side. If the problem happens after 5pm, there it is probably due to so many people logging onto that server. A problem I experienced before FIOS when I was using a competitor's internet was rubberbanding, once I made the FIOS switch the problem never occured again. I believe that WOW also allows on your UI to have your connection speed running while you are playing. You might want to turn that on. I know in LOTRO we have one and then when you see that start to dip immediately run your ping to see what the problem is. Also with Windows 7 I have found on my laptop sometimes 7 can be a bit quirky with the firewall or its security so that causes gaming at times to slow down, maybe when your new patch came in 7 didn't recognize something as it should.
Lastly, if WOW is anything like it was 3 or 4 years ago just keep bringing it up on your tech board and maybe some GM will be willing to look at your case closer, but I do agree with your pings that it looks fine from the house side. As a last resort, you can always do the dreaded uninstall and reinstall WOW. On Fios this shouldn't be too bad if you do it electronically, as I am sure a GM will tell you to do that as well.
Hope this helps somewhat.

No, if you look at the tracert, you'll see the problem is the ATT servers.
The LA center, where his trace dies is having massive problems and content providers who Colo from around the world are mad about it.
Blizzard can't fix ATT's mess. I'd be more than happy to slam Blizz as a WoW player if they were at fault. As a former Ele shaman, you can bet I have in the past and have the forum ban to prove it.
But this is all on ATT.

Not sure if you are still having this problem.
If there is an issue it is definitely on blizzard's end and their carriers (ATT is used for all of the US with exception of Seattle). Also one important thing to note is that blizzard employs solutions aimed at prevented denial of service and other similar attacks on its servers, including garnering information about their layout.
What this means is that you will time out sometime after attens as their internal network is hidden, this is normal.
As to your question if it is verizon, no it is either you or blizzard.
The fps at the most populous city at 5pm dropping should not be an unexpected thing, that can be fixed by leaving dal or turning down video settings.
The latency could also increase, yours isn't something I would worry about, that would be the servers on blizzard's end taking more load and the routers as well as a large number of people come online.
As to the patch it could potentially affect video card settings and the way the cards themselves work, I am in no way qualified to tell you that though.
In closing, it is a product of load and demand most likely. Blizzard though is the responsible party as even if it isn't their internal network it is ATT who they as a customer have a right to demand certain performance from.
