A national version of NESN does not exist right now.

The NFL has recently created an new channel for upcoming season called "NFL Red Zone" I don't see anything that indicates that this channel is being added. Since the "Sunday Ticket" is not available, this channel would be the next best thing..

Also I'm quite suprised that the NASA channel is not in the channel lineup...figured that would be a "no-brainer"...

Comcast offers SPT (Portuguese) international channel for $9.99/month which shows all the Portguese soccer games......RTPi does not and so it's worthless to us.  Please add the SPT channel for us Portuguese community.

Actually, Turner Classic Movies-HD is showing SOME movies in High Definition, even though none of their filler betwen films is in HiDef.  The other night, they showed a Sinatra double-feature in all its letterboxed 16-by-9 Cinemascope glory.  I saw it on FiOS competitor Cablevision, which carries TCM-HD on Channel 734 here in the New York City area.  Obviously it'll take some time to re-master the rest of its library in HD and create widescren interstitial graphics and Robert Osborne wraparounds, but at least they're respecting the aspect ratio of what they already have, rather than employing the awful "Stretch-O-Vision" that sister-networks TBS and TNT use on a majority of their programming.

We are brand-new to FiOS as of this week and have been horrified to find we are unable to access MSNBC, especially Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann! Have we stumbled into an alternate universe that only recognizes FOX? How do we return to the real world? Please help!!

Let me start by saying: this is NOT Verizon's fault.

MSNBC (in SD) is available on Verizon Fios everywhere - except the New York area.   Cablevision has an exclusive contract with MSNBC that keeps the channel off competing systems like Fios.

Consequently, it is my understanding that Verizon has refused to add MSNBC-HD to any of its systems until this exclusive deal ends.

I suspect that this deal will end when Fios gets big enough that MSNBC can't afford to not be on the Fios system in the New York area.

Letterboxed, yes.  But I believe they were up-converts and not true HD.  Still, you are right in that they do show movies in their proper rartio.  One of thew reasons that this channel is so important.  On the other hand, the up-coming EPIX channel apparently is cropping newer widescreen movie (as can be seen in the EPIX HD preview with both THE DUTCHESS and IRON MAN.  Since EPIX might be a premium channel, consumers should be aware of that reprehensible policy before

signing up to pay for this channel when it launches.
