No, but if you call Verizon and complain about it, they'll probably give you something, whether it's movie channels for free or a monthy credit for a certain period. I compained to DirecTV a couple years ago when they had the same thing going on with Versus, and they gave me $10 off per month for 6 months.

If Tennis Channel means a lot to you, call them. It's worth a try.

I must admit that I'm not a subscriber, but I count on the "unblocked" access to Tennis Channel during the US Open since some of the matches not carried by ESPN or CBS are over on Tennis Channel during the two-week period of the Open; however, this year, Verizon decided to remove the Tennis Channel programming during the second week of the "unblocked" US Open coverage. Their decision created a lot of negative energy...but then again, I can't complain too much because I wasn't a paying subscriber. I was just enjoying the free coverage during the US Open.

I also would like to know the real story why Verizon pulled the plug on the Tennis Channel. I have called, sent emails, etc and all they say is "it's in negotiations."  In the meantime the viewers are missing all of the tennis activities. They pulled my favorite channel which I was paying more for..... but on my bill this month there was no deduction.

Regarding the absence of Tennis Channel--I have contacted Verizon via telephone numerous times w/no success on the progress of contract negotiations. What I have learned is: Tennis Channle is trying to get Verizon to offer the package to a lower viewing tier thusly to expand the viewing base. Verizon is holding out for more $$$. That said, you can have access to Tennis Channel (per Verizon statement) for an additional $5.00 a month (that would be an added $20.00 monthly to exisitng fee)which offers you 80 additional channels and a higher internet speed--whoopee!! Frankly, I hardly use the existing channels and certainly am not in need of a faster IN speed. I believe Verizon is taking advantage of its viewing public during these "said negotiations" and trying to recoup the loss from charges for Tennis Channel. Whatever happened to good Customer Service. Thoughts???

I have been contemplating what to do with the loss of the tennis channel on Verizon-when I signed up in May I told them there were two things I had to have, HBO and the tennis channel. So I picked my package accordingly. We really enjoy watching tennis

and I feel this a serious breach of contract-I'm sure if I read the agreeement, it says there are no guarantees, but I am **bleep** off.

It is disheartening to hear others talk about the lack of response they are getting from verizon on this issue. I guess there are not enough of us (tennis fans) and we are not focal enough. It is a dignified sport. But I guess we need to make a fuss to get their attention.

Where is the outrage?  Why has this not been resolved?  I find it ludicrous that I would have to shell out $ for movie channels I have no interest in watching just so I can view the Tennis Channel?  This smells like a monopoly of sorts...

Oh, that's right.  I do have options.  Hello Comcast.  Or, DirectTV?

Please, Verizon.  Come to your senses and get the Tennis Channel back on!

I can't believe it. I ordered the Sports Package for an extra $15 month only to find that there is no tennis channel.

How can they advertise something and then pull it?

VERIZON, I paid for Tennis Channel, and I expect you will do something about it.

After no Tennis Channel on Verizon for 6 weeks, I am in the process of switching back to Cox. A few $ more but there are real people who come to set up the unit and Tennis Channel is available.

I recommend all others who want the Tennis Channel to do the same. Eventually Verizon may get the message. Maybe there will even be a class action law suit over this as the monthly charge has not changed despite loss of the channel.

When I switched to FIOS last spring. I told  them  that the tennis channel was a deal breaker. They assured me that I would have the tennis channel. Now I do not. I am not happy. Cannot seem to get a hold of a live person.

Bring  back the tennis channel or I am going back to Direct TV.
