We're aware of the channel and have been actively engaged with Time Warner Cable over the past several months. Unfortunately, at this time we have been unable to reach acceptable carriage terms for our customers.

A few key things to keep in mind:

1. Verizon has been and continues to be in negotiations.

2. No other provider (other than TWC) has signed a carriage agreement yet.

3. About 1/3 of the Lakers games this season (including the first few games) will be aired on National TV and available to FiOS TV customers.

And for the Clippers fans out there, you'll still be able to find games on Prime Ticket, channel 577 (HD) or 77 (SD).

A handful of the Clippers games are also nationally televised which means they'll be on NBA TV, ESPN, ABC or TNT instead.

Well here is what time warner had  to say. I must say, at least they have the decency to give me a response. Verizon has said nothing yet. Here it is.

"Despite Time Warner Cable Sportsnet's ongoing efforts, it is unlike that Verizon Fios will carry our network before you start missing live, exclusive laker games on Oct 7th, we urge you verizon fios at 1-855-4-my-lakers to ensure you wont miss a single minute of this highly-anticipated lakers season and visit iwanmylakers.com to demand they carry Timewarner Cable Sportsnet.

So according to TWC they are trying to make a deal. Verizon remains silent. Smiley Frustrated

lol verizon already giving the lame justification to keep customers that 1/3 of the games are going to be nationally televised. We don't care about that. we care about the 2/3 that aren't.  We don't care about the other provider, we care about the cable company we pay for.

Thank you for a response though even though it's basically a talking points statement. At least it is something as previously there have been 0 answers.


We are smart enough to see **bleep**, so it makes it seem like **bleep** when you say you're trying to get it, but then give out reasons and try to persuade customers to stay with you even know the season hasn't started yet. You're trying to get it but.........we can see 1/3 of the laker games on national tv, we are trying to get it but.........well other companies don't have it so there.......in your face! Hey customer, you're dumb enough to not know laker games are nationally televised and that other companies haven't got a deal either.

The channel started last monday and it is obvious verizon doesn't care which is why nothing was said prior to inform the customer of what was going on. Not even a "we hopefully expect to get a deal done by the start of the regular season"

What this tells me is that Verizon really doesn't give a **bleep** either way.

lol great response.

basically saying we aint getting this channel or do we care, but you can watch 1/3 of the games this year. What a joke. Seems like they are preparing for not having it instead of preparing the customer that they are going to get it.

Not a good sign.

Wow...

1. Of course your in negotiations otherwise we would have the channel by now. How about letting us know what your true intentions are? Are you getting nowhere with the negotiations? If so just come clean and admit to it so we can drop you and switch to TWC.

2. Thanks for letting us know no other provider besides TWC is carrying the channels. Appreciate you caring so much about us that you had to remind us that we either take it or leave it.

3. Really 1/3 of Lakers games are Nationally televised. Wow, there must be demand for Lakers games even outside of their local market.

Lastly you had to add insult to injury by mentioning that Clippers games will be available to watch on Verizon.

Come on man... Really...

F2, the mentioning of other providers not having it is a tactic to deflect blame from themselves. As a verizon customer we don't care or pay for other providers and what they do. It is being used to shift blame on TW which is **bleep**. Verizon isn't a big cable company. More people easily have TWC, DISH and Direct tv, so this isn't some mega deal they are working on which further adds to the frustration.

IMHO if Sports Content KEEPS BEING ADDED TO FIOS, WE SHOULD GO BACK TO A SEPERATE SPORTS TIER!
