Any way to use my own DVD recorder on different channel?

I just got FIOS TV service and I have a Panasonic DMR-EZ485V DVD Recorder which has a digital tuner built in.  The TV currently has the Verizon digital adapter and, based on what I have read, I cannot record a different channel than the one the digital adapter has.  Do I have any options to get this to work, such as getting the basic set top box or something else?

You can try to get a 2nd Verizon Digital Adapter for your Panasonic and then seeing if you can control it with an IR Blaster (IF the Panasonic Supoports It).

Possibly, depending on which digital tuner is installed on your dvd recorder. I forget which one works with Verizon but.... If you take off the digital adaptor and connect the Verizon line directly to the DVD recorder see if you can see any channels from 2-49. These channels do not need an adaptor if you have the proper tuner built in. But if you dont or if you want channels 50 and above, you will need an additional digital adaptor/stb
