Can I reuse a stb

I have a sd dvr box that i had at another address.  I;m getting FIOS at a new location an wonder if the box can be reused.  I don't see that they offer this box anymore

If you had FiOS at a previous address and didn't "move" the account, then you may want to contact Verizon and return the STB from the old account or your liable to be charged a fee for failure to return the equipment.

As another poster said, if you picked it up off eBay or something, it's likely stolen or equipment someone failed to return -- and which still belongs to Verizon (you don't own the STB, Verizon leases them to you).

If the gear is from another provider -- like say the cable company -- it's of no value.

Frankly, I'd just get the HD DVR (which will then let you bundle the other STB's you may have and probably work out to about the same monthly cost when you're all said and done.   An HD DVR can be used on an SD TV in the event that's a limitation for you.

You probably can as long as verizon has the serial number of the box already on file under your name. If they don't already have it then they will not activate it (i.e. if you bought it off of ebay or craigslist or something like that you wasted your money)
