Can Media Manager not play .m4a files????

or am I missing something obvious here.  I went through the hassle of ripping all my 500+ CD's to iTunes so that I could play them on my iPod when on the road.  But I guess Verizon's Media Manager does not have the ability to recognize all those files on my PC - correct?

It will play MP3 and WMA files.  Only unprotected ones at that.  That's it.
