I usually copy whatever is recorded on my DVR over to put on my computer and portable devices to watch at a later date. But more channels are "copy once" now than there used to be, and they're non-premium channels. Cartoon Network HD, A&E HD and non HD, E! HD and non HD, they're not "Copy Freely" anymore. I don't why this is, but I was told that FiOs doesn't "Copy Once" anything except HBO and premium channels like that. I'm in the New York City area if that helps.
I have a QIP-7100 (the long silver STB) cable box if that helps and use firewire to get the recorded files off. Do the same issues pretain if I use a cable card, because there is a cable card in the STBs as far as I know? However, if I drop the STB and get a FioS cablecard to put in an HDHomeRun, would I still have the same issues with the same channels? Is this the new way FiOs is running things?

I have a cable card and Ceton Infinity 4 and I do not have any copy issues. I believe the Flag comes from the provider not verizon.
