Overall, I'm ok with the new interface that was rolled out. However, one point I have an issue with is how closed caption setting are implemented. I occasionally like to watch programming on Telemundo, but need the English captions to do so. Under the old system, toggling between CC1 and CC2 was pretty straight forward. But with the new system having to dig down and change the settings is a bit of a hassel to do on a regular basis.
And while we're on the topic of Telemundo's English captions, why are they on CC2 in the first place? This seems to ignore the fact that Telemundo lists the English captions as being on CC3 so people may not think to look for them on CC2. In addition, there is legitimate reason why Telemundo choose to place the English captions under CC3 in the first place. As a Spanish language station, naturally they would put the Spanish captions under CC1. However, I'm sure that many of their viewers need the Spanish captions when watching English language stations which, when available, are normally carried under CC2. By having the Spanish captions on both CC1 & CC2, those viewers do not need to change thier caption settings when watching Telemundo. I, on the other hand, have to change the caption settings regardless. Having to change them from CC1 to CC3 is no more difficult than swithcing them to CC2.
Have you tried the closed caption feature on your tv? You might find them a better fit.
You can't use the TV's closed captions when connecting the STB via HDMI.
