Windows Media Center does not seem to see the TV signal from the coax connection. Is there something special I have to do with FIOS?

What type of TV tuner card are you using in your computer? If it's only an analog one, then you won't get anything because FiOS is all-digital. If it has a digital QAM tuner, then you will only get local FiOS channels (1-49). The only way you can get all FiOS channels on a computer is if you have a cableCARD-ready TV Tuner card and rent a cableCARD from Verizon for a monthly fee.

You do not have to do anything with the fios system, just connect a cable to the QAM-capable tuner card. Did you run the setup steps in WMC where it scans for channels? For the guide to work, you will also have to select the local Verizon service in the setup.
