Convertor Boxes

Right now all my TV's are older and connected to Comcast Standard Cable Service. If I get FIOS and replace a TV with a new one will that negate the need for a convertor box for that TV. If so, what features would the TV need to have?  Also, does it matter if this takes place before the national conversion to all digital?   Thank you.

The new TV would have to have a QAM tuner in it to get basic local channels. If it just has an ATSC tuner it will not work and you will still need a box.
