I just got this STB and chaptering wasn't working, I did a live support with verizon, they said it's a known issue. However, I found out how to do it, - main menu, dvr, configure and upgrade, and there it was - program chaptering, you have to enable it, didn't come enabled. now it works, no thumbnail images, but it works
Thumbnails work at least some of the time.
