DVR Program recording: start LATER / stop EARLIER options, please

As you may have noticed, many programs now end a bit late (say, 1 or 2 minutes after the hour) as an attempt to highjack you into staying with that channel. Yet VZ DVR software allows recording length extended but not trimmed. I am forced to unnecessarily create manual programs on busy nights.

Would VZ kindly add "start late" / "end early" ( by , say 1 min, 2 mins etc.) options to its recording menu?

Time Warner has that on their DVRs. Don't be worse than TW...
