DVR recording video stutter -

Setup - Moto QIP7216-P1 DVR running IMG 1.6.0 Build 6.89 in New York State - Zip-14075

When recording some HD channels, esp. NatGeo the playback video stalls about every 20-30 seconds or so. Sound is uneffected and then the video starts again. This continues all thru the recording. Reset from web, pulling power cord - no fix. Anyone ??

Stuttering is typically the result of a signal issue.   If a signal is too strong or too weak, it can cause problems.  Stutter (skipped frames) is how the Motorola DVRs deal with signal errors.

I would schedule a service appointment.

I thnk that while a signal quailty issue is possible I feel the problem has to have something to do w/ the DVR system of the box because while watching the shows live there is no problems whatsoever even if you are recording as you watch. It is the RECORDED version of the show that has the stuttering. It feels like the DVR cant keep up w/ the bandwidth being sent.

I have had similar problems.  I also see this if I'm watching HD channels delayed.  No sound glitches, but serious video problems every 20-30 seconds.

I've had Verizon techs out to my house twice, they measured signal levels, one even changed my wall plate and cable just to be sure.  No change.

I'm waiting for the next firmware upgrade and hoping with crossed fingers that they get it figured out.  Sometimes powering off and back on seems to help.
