I had this problem before the latest firmware upgrade and it continues even till today. My favorites has become useless because of the 25-50 channels that mysteriously keep comming back after being deleted.
I heard on another board that verizon was well aware of the problem, to the point of knowing exactly what was causing the problem, and that the latest upgrade would fix it. It didn't!!!!!
Please don't tell me to make sure my settings says "flip by channel > favorite channels" I tried that and it doesn't work.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I just phoned this issue in this morning. They'd never heard of it.
It has been happening all along, but after the channel line-up change,
it's become increasingly worse - adding more than 30 channels
as opposed to just 4 or 5.

I got a call back from support earlier this evening. It's apparently a
known issue. They did a remote reset, which wiped out all of my
favorites, but I have added them back and (so far) none of the
extraneous channels have shown up. We get 1.6 at the end of
the month - hopefully, the problem won't reoccur with the update.
