Fios remote going haywire

My remote Or settop box have been working fine. All of a sudden if I press any key on my remote it the settop box detects it has I am holding down the button and goes crazy. For example if I hit channel up. The settop box just keep on changing channels even if the remote is not pointing at the box.  I’ve rebooted the box and changed batteries to no luck

Just an idea. First go into a Fios store and swap out the control box.

if that still doesn’t fix the problem. Replace the set top box.
