FIOS TV tech support lying to me

Newbie

I spent over an hour on the phone with Verizon FIOS reps today. I just got FIOS TV installed with extreme HD package and I am unable to view any of the channels like CNNHD and DiscoveryHD etc. I can get PBSHD. When the FIOS installer was here he was able to get the upper channels (CNN and Discovery) to work on one cable card but in his effort to get it to work on both I lost access on cable card one. When I spoke to Verizon on the phone tonight they said that Tivos do not support all of Verizon's HD channels. This sounds like a load of  {word filter avoidance}  and them trying to get me off the phone.

Based on my Tivo community postings, there are many people who have Tivo 3, FIOS TV, and all HD channels.

Someone please tell me who I need to call at Verizon to get this fixed.

Ready to go back to Comcast.

Yeah It will work on tivos. I have 2 of them. I sent a message to the Verizon techs on the boards here, and they should be able to look at your account and help out with your issue.

Hey, FIOS people looking at this list.

RULE OF THUMB....Tell your CSRS if they do not know something, say that.  DO NOT MAKE STUFF UP!

The thought a CSR would actually say that about cablecards/tivos is horrible.  I've actually had a CSR tell me that TivoHD units

do not work on Fios.  If they do not know something, DO NOT MAKE IT UP!

I recently had my premium movie channels stop working (because my introductory period ended). When I phoned, the CSR told me that ALL of the premium movie channel content was now on demand and I no longer needed the linear channels. Imagine!

If CSRs don't know they answer then they should just say so and then find someone that does, it's pretty simple.

I have Tivo with an M-card with extreme HD. Those channels come in fine for me. The only issue I know of with the tivo is that sometimes the FIOS signal can be too good. I have not experienced it myself but I guess it usually results in a pixelated or corrupted signal.
