When do we get fix in Media Manager so it will EVEN recognize Flip videos. I've converted to all different formats and still MM refuses to allow them to be recognized. MM needs a software fix!

Exactly ... view the file type (MP4, AVI, WMV, etc.) kind of like an envelope ... the come in all different sizes and colors.   The video itself is like the letter inside the envelope.   In your case, the type of envelope is recognized, but the letter is written in a foreign language that MM doesn't understand.  (That's not a perfect analogy, but close enough to get the point across).

Codecs are often distributed with fees for licensing or for use with special software/hardware (the Flip uses such a codec which they give you for use with a standard PC or Mac but which the STB's obviously don't have.

Rather than wait for Verizon to decide to license the codec (unlikely) or for Flip to change their format -- why not get a utility and convert the videos to a codec that is understood by MM -- VirtualDub and several other products can do this for you and a number of them are free.

The problem is in not the format ,but the codec. The MM also does not recognise video from Govideo hemet cams.
