all my hd channels when selected I can watch as they come on shift about a quarted screen to the right even the guide they have been this way since installed in october tried setting aspect,stretch sd on and off and getting very frustrated. switched from direct tv and using same sharp aquos tv

What connection are you using from the STB to the TV?
If you are HDMI, you may want to try component connections. It may be something strange in the way your TV interprets the HDMI signal.
Check the setting in the STB and make sure it is not set for 1080 if your set only handles 720. It may not be downscaling it correctly.
