I am on my 6th HD DVR Box at least. It is a 6416. The last 3 shows I have recorded will playback for 5-6 minutes and then jump to the end. Customer support is sending me another box. I asked if there was a newer better box. She said yes but there was some secret way you had to request it online and get on a waiting list. Can anyone assist as I am getting very frustrated with my service.

they may be bad recordings....
How you scheduled those recordings ? through guide or search or manaul?

There is nothing wrong with the older boxes recording. Your problem seems very rare and strange. Lordofring, why would the way he recorded the programs matter, manual or thru the guide? That has nothing to do with anything.

Can you take the box to a Verizon store and exchange it? I understand that is the easiest way to get the latest hardware.

I feel your pain, I went through FOUR 6416's in a one year span (the hard drives kept failing). They are nothing but junk!!!!!!!!!!!! How did I solve it, I finally got a 7232. Is there a Verizon store near you? You can try to take the junk 6416 there and see if they'll give you a 7232. Otherwise you'll have to wait (get on the waiting list asap). I got on the waitng list back in November and finally got the 7232 in February.
