How Good Is The Performance With Quantum TV?

Have most of the kinks been worked out or am I better off holding tight with my problem free  QIP7232-P2 DVR & QIP7100-P2 STB for the time being?

Me personally I would still wait. I do not feel that all the kinks are worked out yet.

Some are still seeing some bugs while others like me don't really see any real noticeable ones at all.

Most of the complaints are for guide lag. They did just release a minor update a few days ago. Don't know what exactly for though other then for some ondemand issues.

Quantum is still using the old guide, but the new guide update that the older boxes have now is expected to be rolled out to Quantum at the end of January so there will be a whole new update soon.

I've been over all happy with quantum myself.

Thanks for your responses. I'd really like to sign up for Quantum TV because I would also receive a free device upgrade from my Actiontec Rev. C to the Actiontec Rev. I router.

I'm wondering if those who experience more problems with Quantum TV may be attributed to their home wiring and/or Verizon's local distribution network HUB?

My FiOS service has been basically trouble free for more than (3) years, and for example, I experienced minimal issues when Verizon rolled out the latest version of their program guide.

I have an Ethernet connection between the ONT & my Actiontec router and my house is wired with a mix of RG-59 & RG-6 coax cable. The MoCA connection to router is on an RG-59 segment. I do experience some lag with the program guide & VOD occassionally but I'm not sure if this is due to the coax connection or perhaps the 3-year-old remotes that may not operate as well like they did when they were new?

Like Sincara, I am not seeing any significant problems.  Seems to be more problems with the new IMG on the older DVR/stb being reported.

Picture quality is somewhat better.  I am using 1080P60 as the output setting.

Certainly home wiring may be an issue since MOCA is being used to send signals to the IPC boxes.  I only have one IPC.  Maybe some of the problems occur when multiple are running simultaneously.

If you do decide to upgrade make sure any splitters you have are moca 2.0 otherwise you will have issues.

Verizon doesn't seem to tell anyone or supply them with the self install upgrade kits....at least those that I know of that did a self install upgrade never received new splitters.

A store, ebay, amazon, or the fios accesories page has them.

I'm a Quantum user and would recommend you switch if you want/need more tuners to record.
I do find a few issues annoying, but are not a hindrance at all.
It generally works, just a few moments of slow response.
At least that is my experience.
Not upset I switched or wishing I could go back.
My $.02 worth.

I see absolutely NO difference with the Quantum upgrade. I even bought the "new" super duper router. No difference. I'm paying more in my monthly bill. The channels that were pixilating before are still pixalating. My wife complains that the channels change slower when she is channel surfing. I agree. Disappointed with the whole Quantum upgrade.

f you were having pixelation before quantum upgrade, then the new boxes would never fix the issue.

That is a cabling issue. What type of cables do you have in your house? How long are the runs? What type of splinters do you have? Might try to replace the main splitter first. Just get one that says 2ghz.
