I think they sent me the wrong STB/DVR

I have been a FIOS customer for several months so I decided to upgrade to DVR.  The sent me my new box it I suspect it might be the wrong one.  Note: I have an analog TV with only a coax input.  I received a HD/DVR QIP 7216-2, which doesn't include a COAX "out" to TV.  I also receive two DCT Digital Adapters but it's not clear of this is the solution or not.  I have no idea why I received two adapters since I only have one TV.  I'm guessing that either (A) I have the wrong box (should I have received the 7216-1) or (B) I need to hookup from wall to STB/DVR to adapter to TV.  This is what I plan to try next.  I just hope I will be able to hook up my old STB if this fails.

Any advice would be well appreciated.

AFAIK, none of the Verizon DVRs have an RF output.  What you'll need to do is either run it through a VCR with composite imputs and an RF output or get an RF modulator (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RF_modulator).

You need to hook up the box with one of the other outputs. Do you have composite or S video inputs on your TV?

All their standard boxes and the DCT700 which he got have coax outputs. He just can't have the DVR then.

I have the 7216-1 DVR and it DOES have an RF output.

Another option would be to get a RF modulator --Target sells a GE unit (cat #73452) for <$20.00.  It take the composite video (yellow connector) and R&L audio (red&white) connectors and converts them to RF chan 3 or 4.  All cables are included.

Verizon discontinued the SD-DVR. If you ask for a DVR you will get a HD-DVR. If you have an older TV with coax input only you must get a RF modulator like the other posters stated.and a set of RCA cords to hook up from the HD-DVR to the RF modulator.

Running it through the VCR did the job.  I may look into getting an RF modulator, but the VCR at least works for now.

Much appreciated!

As I stated above, I have the 7216-1 DVR (just got it about 1 month ago) it is an HD DVR, and it DOES have an RF output, along with SD composite & S-Video; and HD component & HDMI.

I would suggest that you ask Verizon  to replace your 7216-2 with a 7216-1.
