Intermittent audio failure

For quite a while now my audio has been intermittently failing. When I watch tv or playback from the DVR, the audio will occasionally go silent for .5-1 seconds at a time and repeat this every 15 seconds or so.

My set-top is a CHS 435HDC and is connected to my TV via HDMI. The HDMI also splits audio into my Sonos. I also run Roku off of that same HDMI line without issues.

Apparently, from what I found on this forum, this is a known issue with this particular Cisco box.

Tech support hasn’t exactly been great and they insist on replacing it with the same model or requiring me to pay extra for a different model. Quite frankly I’m tired of sitting on hold or be given the “we’ll call you with a solution” run around.
