Internet connectivity for tv

Message 1 of 3

I do not have a "smart TV" but want to download internet streaming like Netflix to my TV.  Will this work by connecting the ionternet cable to the ethernet jack on my HDTV box

In a word, NO.

Neither the ethernet connection or the USB connection on the STB's are active.

The reality is that your STB is already connected to the Internet via MOCA,(that is how the program guide, and Video on Demand is provided), but there is no 'user' access.

get a Wii, Xbox, PS3 Roku player or similiar streaming device and it connects to your TV like a VCR or a Blu ray would.  Those devices would have the netflix and hulu and interenet streaming, but without that, then matthew is right.   you can't do it with just the TV (that is not a smart tv) or just the Set top box

I have a PS3 and that does it for me
