Is it usual for a triple bundle installation to take 25 hours???

I just recently ordered the triple bundle fios package in southern cali and it took my technician a total of 25 hors to get everything set up.It turns out he had only been with a company for 3 weeks that is subcontracted with Verizon. Is this normal in any way? Now I am repeatedly getting a "currently unavailable" message on my HD channels? What can resolve this?

I am also in So Cal and had FIOS installed last week.  Initially a contractor came and ran the fiber to the side of the house.  2 days later the Verizon guy showed up.  He was not a contractor and did an excellent job.  Ran several coax runs and set everything up in about 7 hours.  Neat install and complete cleanup and all works fine. (Except for known 1.6.0 issues)

Sounds like you have two different issues. Regarding the install, it varies, with the usual determinants the number of TV's hooked up as well as all the cable runs. My installer took 6 hours for the triple bundle, and even had to string fibre between two light poles. He was quite meticulous. A supervisor should visit you soon to survey your install, and you can discuss things then. About "Currently Unavailable" - this has got to be the most often cited problem on this forum and is attributed to the HDMI CEC handshake protocol, an industry issue not just FIOS.  Please see the other threads (search the forum) on this topic. Until then, two quick fixes:1. Do periodic hard reboots of the DVR (unplug from the wall socket for 30 seconds, replug, let boot); and 2. use component cables (red/green/blue RCA jacks) instead of HDMI. The new software is reputed to fix this, so standby.  Hope this helps. Thank you.
