I just got verizon fios tv service today..so far Verizon is NOT making a good first impression. The tech guy left before I could check out the TV service and I have a problem already. I have been on the phone on hold for almost an hour already and still no support agent has come on the line. There is a definite "delay" or "lag" with the new equipment. When you push a button the remote, it takes several seconds to "register" with the DVR box. Whats the issue? How can this be fixed??? Im irritated already!

The most common "fix" to all things "not working right" is an Auto-Correct. I'll leave some detailed instructions below. Sometimes the lag is related to the settings, sometimes the lag is related to an old model box. What model #'s are on the front of the boxes that you have (Motorola/Cisco XXXX)?
Set Top Box Auto Correction Function
(Caution: this process will reset/reboot the boxes selected. If you are planning to use this function on a DVR, make sure that no recordings are currently in process or scheduled to take place in the next several minutes or partial loss of recording will occur.)
The functions below are either a remote control button or a menu item. Either press the remote control button or use the navigation arrows on the remote to find/highlight/enter the menu option.
Choose one of the following three pathways:
Menu > Customer Support > Fix FiOS TV Issues > OK
Menu > Customer Support > In-Home Agent > Fix FiOS TV Issues > OK
Menu > Customer Support > In-Home Agent > Set Top Box Auto Correction > OK
Regardless of which pathway you choose, they all lead you to the same place. After entering the Set Top Box Auto Correction menu, use the navigation arrows to highlight Auto Correct My STB/DVR, then press the OK button, then press the Right Arrow button. On the second page use the navigation arrows to highlight the box(es) that are malfunctioning, pressing the OK button to select each one (OR just press ' 1' to select all the boxes at once), then press the Right Arrow button. On the third page press the Right Arrow button. The box(es) will reset. Check to see if your problem is solved.

Also consider turning off a few options in settings that may slow things down.
