I have a hearing impaired person in my household that spends a lot of time on the PC or watching TV at full volume. This makes it impossible for her to hear her cell phone or house phone. Is there a way to have the caller ID and or "ring" display and or sound on the TV and PC. We have all Verizon service (house, internet, TV, cell).

You can also call Verizon CS and see if Digital Voice is available in your area yet. If so, then the next upgrade to the TV is supposed to include caller ID on the screen. This will only work if you have Digital Voice however. If available, this should start sometime next month.

Verizion has a VCA (Verizon Call Assistant) product in some areas. This will display a PopUp Window on the PC when an incoming call is received. The service has been know to go down from time to time qand is not 100% reliable, but it is free. There have been rumors of TV Caller ID, but nothing definite on when it will be here.

There are lights available that can be purchased and plugged into a phone jack. These would blink, and might be best solution to have one of these at different locations, but there is Verizon Call Assistant as mentioned.

I have Digital Voice and the on-screen caller ID is still not available. Who informed you that it should be available in October 2009?

Caller ID on TV is available now in Texas, I have it, and it works well. As far as I know Texas is the only place it is available now. Digital Voice is most definitely NOT a prerequisite for Caller ID on TV, I do not have Digital Voice, but it is supposed to work with Digital Voice if you have it. A prerequisite IS the 1.7 level of the IMG, which is available right now only in TX and CA (rolled out 9/29, updated 11/17)). Verizon has not published, and I imagine will not publish, a schedule for the rollout of 1.7, so posters here can only guess at when it will be available in any given area of the country.
An easy way to tell if Caller ID on TV is available in your area is to go to the Menu on your STB:
Menu ==> Settings ==> (is there a Caller ID entry under Settings?)
If there is a Caller ID entry under Settings you can check and see if it is available and if so whether it is enabled or not.
Since the rollout of IMG 1.7 has been delayed from the (rumored) original schedule I feel sure it is going to be a few weeks, a month, two months, three months, whatever, until you get Caller ID on your TV, depending on your location and Verizon's final rollout schedule.
