Media Center 7 and the QIP2500-3- Media center does not see the IR receiver

hello,

I have a gateway DX-4200-09 PC with the PCTV 800i tuner card installed.  When I try and set up my tuner card  through Media Center 7 it gets all the way through the set-up, can see a test channel and all but then stalls at the point where it states it can't see the IR Receiver and to try again.  I do, but to no avail.

Someone said I need an IR blaster, but I'm not sure why?  If I use the tuner card without media center (It came with Pinnacle tv cENTER pRO)  I can change channels (but only with my FIOS remote)  The PCTV tuner card remote doesn't work at all.

CAn anyone provide me with any suggestions.  I bought this PC for one reason and that was to record TV and I can't seem to do that.

You need to use a Media Center compatible remote and receiver.  The one that came with your tuner may not work.

Just look for a "Media Center" remote with the green button.  It usually comes as a kit with everything you need.
