Hi,
I want to move my cable box from one room to the other (say room_1 to room_2) . The cable-box is working fine in room_1.
But when I plug it into the outlet in room_2 I get the message that my set-top box is not receiving any signal and check my connections. The connections are all right and tight. Calling Veritzon Tech support revealed that the coax outlet in room_2 is NOT activated and they'd have to send technician to do that (which would cost about $170 (100 for technician to show up and 70 for activating the outlet).
So, was wondering if I can do something on my own ? OR it is totally in Verizon's control and I have to shell out ?
The STB is QIP2500-3.
Will appreciate your feedback and help. IF you need further details to be able to respond, let me know.
Thanks,
DK.,

Based on
I see 4 " - - - -" on my STB, which could mean that my outlet is not wired for Verizon FIOS.
So, what's the resolution for that ? Do I need to have Verizon come out and get it done (and shell out $$$) or is this something that can be done by one on his own ?
Thanks,
DK.

Starting at your ONT Optical Network Terminal.
Can you "see"...trace your coax ?
Looks like there is a splitter missing going to "problem" room.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE SEEN MY IMAGE THAT I REFERRED TO PREVIOUSLY.
Does this look like how you are "wired" ?
