Old recording on replacement STB

I had to have my STB replaced. Verizon was very quick to respond. I had the replacement in two days. I understand that the replacements are refurbished but do you think it might be a good idea to wipe the hard drive clean before you send it out? When I powered up the unit and it went through the initialization process I went to the DVR page. There were a number of recordings still on the drive and the capacity was more than 50% used. Even after deleting all of the recorded programing, my DVR still shows 34% full. I downloaded my previous series from the cloud but I also have a boatload of recordings of shows I've never watched and have no intention of watching. I've deleted a bunch of them but the list seems endless. C'mon people, for what we pay per month your quality control has to be better than this.
