ONT/BBU issue - bad cable or worse?

I had the battery die on me a long time ago and apparently it leaked/shorted or something and the cable that connects the battery to the BBU is charred/damaged. I've tried replacing with a known good battery and it doesn't work. I really don't care about having a functioning BBU but the beeping every 10-15 minutes is very annoying.

Is there any way to get a replacement for that cable to test if it'll work with a new battery now or will the entire ONT need to be replaced? The BBU is built into my ONT and not a seperate unit otherwise I would have bypassed it long ago.

A solution just to make the beeping stop would be acceptable too.
